Junior Year Timeline

Fall (September-December): • Take PSAT/NMSQT in October • Begin researching colleges • Start building relationships with teachers • Consider taking SAT Subject Tests • Begin thinking about summer plans Winter (January-March): • Take SAT or ACT for the first time • Visit colleges during winter break • Attend college fairs and information sessions • Begin preliminary college list Spring (April-June): • Retake SAT/ACT if needed • Take AP exams • Schedule college visits for spring break • Start thinking about essays • Plan meaningful summer activities

Senior Year Timeline

Fall (September-December): • Finalize college list • Request transcripts and recommendations • Complete Common Application • Write and revise essays • Submit early decision/action applications (November 1-15) • Apply for scholarships • Take final SAT/ACT if needed Winter (January-March): • Submit regular decision applications (January 1-15) • Complete FAFSA (available October 1) • Apply for additional scholarships • Send mid-year grades to colleges • Prepare for interviews if required Spring (April-June): • Receive admission decisions • Compare financial aid offers • Visit admitted student days • Make final college choice by May 1 • Send deposit to chosen college • Send final transcripts
